Mickaël Salaün d41d0021a6 landlock: Test trace path output boundaries
Use focused KUnit tests to exercise the renderer's internal boundary and
composition contracts with synthetic scratch states, including both
sibling-helper evaluation orders. Check the exact output and
reservation boundaries, including a four-byte octal escape accepted at
exact capacity and rejected one byte short. Also verify an unchanged
cursor on failure, that bracketed process names and embedded NUL bytes
remain data, and that input ellipsis bytes are escaped rather than
mistaken for the raw truncation marker.

The composition test requires generic trace output helpers. Enable
CONFIG_FTRACE and CONFIG_SCHED_TRACER because the latter selects the
otherwise-hidden CONFIG_TRACING support required by
trace_print_flags_seq().

Use kselftests to exercise the complete tracefs path for both affected
filesystem events. A valid path containing 2640 spaces exceeds the
scratch output budget. Require its escaped prefix to end in the raw
UTF-8 ellipsis while access_rights and blockers remain intact.

This division keeps the exact safety contract compiler-independent while
proving that real tracepoints preserve their surrounding symbolic
fields. The end-to-end assertions fail after a full fix revert with
both GCC and Clang, while the composition KUnit test fails if the
scratch reserve is removed.

Mickaël Salaün 3125751cd1 landlock: Bound escaped trace path output
Filesystem paths may expand fourfold when trace text escapes spaces and
other untrusted bytes. A sufficiently long representation can exhaust
the shared scratch sequence. A sibling __print_flags() helper may then
return an unterminated one-past pointer because TP_printk() argument
ordering is unspecified.

Use a fixed budget rather than the scratch space available at call time,
so output does not vary with sibling evaluation order. Limit an
untrusted string to three quarters of the trace sequence, leaving the
rest for sibling helpers and final event metadata. Compute and commit
complete escaped output transactionally so an exact fill cannot consume
the terminating NUL or poison the scratch sequence.

For strings that exceed the limit, retain the largest prefix ending at a
complete escape unit, then append a raw UTF-8 ellipsis. Keep the
helper's existing octal fallback so complete values remain unchanged.
Hex fallback would consume the same four bytes per escaped byte without
increasing the prefix or strengthening the marker. ESCAPE_NAP renders
every non-ASCII input byte in octal, so legitimate data cannot reproduce
the marker without being escaped.

Mickaël Salaün d3df7ed468 landlock: Clean up ruleset validation checks
landlock_merge_ruleset() checks for a NULL ruleset after dereferencing
it in lockdep_assert_held(). Move the assertion after the check so the
defensive path remains effective.

The mask-validation comment originated in landlock_add_fs_access_mask()
to explain that its WARN_ON_ONCE() checked a caller invariant. It
became self-referential when this helper and its network and scope
counterparts were inlined into landlock_create_ruleset(). Restate the
invariant without naming the caller.

Keep both as defensive callee checks. Moving the assertion preserves
the NULL check's ability to warn and return -EINVAL, while invalid masks
remain warned about and masked.

Mickaël Salaün e7557b9ef7 selftests/landlock: Test abstract socket trace name limits
The landlock_deny_scope_abstract_unix_socket event captures binary
socket names with __string_len(), whose dynamic field reserves an extra
byte for the NUL terminator. The printer subtracts this byte before
escaping the content.

Exercise the minimum accepted address length, which has no name content,
and the maximum sockaddr_un length, which has 107 content bytes. Check
the exact trace output at both boundaries. The existing stream and
datagram variants share this event, so the boundary variants only need
the stream path.

Because these boundary names are fixed, run the fixture in a private
network namespace. Abstract UNIX socket names are scoped by network
namespace, preventing concurrent bind() calls from colliding.

The lower-bound test confirms that the subtraction recovers zero instead
of underflowing.

Mickaël Salaün 172b6a6d84 landlock: Document tracepoints
Until now, Landlock observability documentation covered only audit
records. The tracepoints added by the previous commits introduce a
second channel with different semantics (firing regardless of audit
configuration and domain log flags, exposing the full ruleset and domain
state to eBPF via BTF), which kernel developers, administrators, and
userspace tool authors need to discover and compare against audit.

Add a dedicated "Landlock Trace Events" reference covering the event
categories, enabling events via tracefs, ruleset versioning, eBPF access
through BPF_RAW_TRACEPOINT, and the same_exec and logged denial fields
(logged being the kernel's audit-logging decision, so a stateless ftrace
filter can select the denials audit would record with logged==1).
Cross-reference it from the administrator, kernel-internals, and
userspace API documents, contrasting tracepoints with audit: when each
channel is preferred, what each guarantees, and how NOAUDIT hooks and
audit rate limiting affect them.

Also document the relational other-party domain fields the scope and
ptrace denial tracepoints expose (tracee_domain, target_domain,
peer_domain; 0 when the other party is unsandboxed), so a consumer can
resolve them against the lifecycle events and reproduce the two-domain
verdict.

Mickaël Salaün ac6d193de5 selftests/landlock: Add landlock_enforce_domain trace tests
Add trace tests for the landlock_enforce_domain event in trace_test.c,
asserting field counts after the syscall returns rather than line
ordering across per-CPU buffers. They cover single-threaded and TSYNC
enforcement (complete and process_wide set), a multi-threaded non-TSYNC
process (process_wide clear), the single-threaded non-leader edge case,
the flags-only path that creates no domain, and a thread-sync abort that
emits create_domain and free_domain but no enforce_domain.

landlock_enforce_domain is added to the fixture enable path and every
disable list so its zero-events assertions cannot be tripped by a stray
enforcement event.

Test coverage for security/landlock is 91.6% of 2571 lines according to
LLVM 22.

Mickaël Salaün aef2dd32dd selftests/landlock: Add scope and ptrace tracepoint tests
Add trace tests for the landlock_deny_ptrace,
landlock_deny_scope_signal, and landlock_deny_scope_abstract_unix_socket
tracepoints, each placed alongside the functional tests for its
subsystem, mirroring the audit test layout.

Each tracepoint is exercised by a fixture with three variants that pin
both branches of the other-party domain field: denied against an
unsandboxed other party (other-party domain ID 0), denied against a
sandboxed other party (non-zero ID), and an allowed baseline that
records no event. A second fixture per type exercises an alternate LSM
hook that reaches the same tracepoint with the same other-party domain
ID, since each denial type can be reached through more than one hook.

The datagram abstract-unix variant does not assert peer_pid, which is 0
for a datagram peer (no SO_PEERCRED); sun_path is the reliable peer
identifier. The ptrace fixtures install a plain domain-creating ruleset
rather than a dedicated flag, since ptrace denial relies on domain
ancestry, not on a specific scoped flag. The fixtures unshare the mount
namespace and remount / as MS_PRIVATE before mounting tracefs so the
helper instance is visible only to the test process.

Mickaël Salaün 6e2df0117b selftests/landlock: Add network tracepoint tests
Add network-specific trace tests, co-located with the existing audit
fixture so each subsystem's functional, audit, and trace tests live
together.

Parameterized fixtures verify the landlock_deny_access_net event: a bind
or connect denied outside the ruleset emits exactly one event with the
expected sport/dport, an allowed bind or connect emits none, and the
unsandboxed baseline emits none. A separate fixture verifies the
landlock_check_rule_net event on an allowed bind, anchoring its domain,
access_request, port, and grants to exact values; only check_rule_fs had
a dedicated field test before.

Port fields are read in host endianness, matching the
landlock_net_port_attr.port UAPI convention, so the decimal comparisons
also catch byte-order regressions in the tracepoint plumbing. IPv6
trace tests are intentionally elided: IPv6 hook dispatch shares the
current_check_access_socket() path with IPv4 (covered by the audit
tests), and the trace fields do not depend on address family.

Mickaël Salaün 30478db56c selftests/landlock: Add filesystem tracepoint tests
Add filesystem-specific trace tests in a dedicated file, following the
audit-test pattern of living alongside each subsystem's functional
tests.

trace_fs_test.c verifies that the add_rule_fs, check_rule_fs, and
deny_access_fs events fire with the correct fields on matching rules and
denied accesses, that check_rule_fs does not fire for unhandled access
types, and that no event fires without a sandbox. A denial covered by a
quiet rule still emits a deny_access_fs event but with logged=0, the
same suppression verdict audit applies; because that verdict must not
depend on CONFIG_AUDIT, the test also runs under a tracepoints-only
build.

Add trace_layout1 fixture tests in fs_test.c that reuse the layout1
hierarchy to verify the per-layer grants field: field values, multi-rule
pathwalk short-circuit, request intersection, the optional truncate
right surfacing in the request and grants, and an empty grants set from
a rule that grants none of the requested rights.

Mickaël Salaün 2651712a15 selftests/landlock: Add trace event test infrastructure and tests
Add tracefs test infrastructure in trace.h: helpers for mounting
tracefs, enabling/disabling events, reading the trace buffer, counting
regex matches, and extracting field values, plus per-event regex
patterns. The patterns are anchored with ^ and $, verify every
TP_printk field, and use no unescaped dot characters; TRACE_PREFIX
matches the ftrace line format with either the expected task name
(truncated to TASK_COMM_LEN - 1) or "<...>" for an evicted comm cache
entry.

Add trace_test.c with the trace fixture (setup enables all available
events with a PID filter, teardown disables and clears) and the
lifecycle, API, denial-field, and log-flag tests. Extend the existing
true helper to open its working directory before exiting, triggering a
read_dir denial inside a sandbox, so the exec-based tests can verify
same_exec and the logged decision across an exec. Move regex_escape()
from audit.h to common.h for shared use by the audit and trace tests.

Enable CONFIG_ENABLE_DEFAULT_TRACERS alongside CONFIG_FTRACE in the
selftest config: CONFIG_FTRACE alone only enables the tracer menu
without activating any tracer, while CONFIG_ENABLE_DEFAULT_TRACERS
selects TRACING (and thus TRACEPOINTS and event tracing) without
depending on architecture-specific syscall tracepoints. When
CONFIG_FTRACE is disabled it cannot be set, so TRACEPOINTS is correctly
disabled too.

Mickaël Salaün bb91730f16 landlock: Add tracepoints for ptrace and scope denials
Scope and ptrace denials follow a different code path (a domain
hierarchy check) than access-right denials, so they need dedicated
tracepoints with type-specific TP_PROTO arguments. Complete the denial
coverage with:
- landlock_deny_ptrace: ptrace access denied by a domain hierarchy
  mismatch.
- landlock_deny_scope_signal: signal delivery denied by
  LANDLOCK_SCOPE_SIGNAL.
- landlock_deny_scope_abstract_unix_socket: abstract unix socket access
  denied by LANDLOCK_SCOPE_ABSTRACT_UNIX_SOCKET.

TP_PROTO passes the raw kernel object (struct task_struct or struct
sock) for eBPF BTF access; the comm and sun_path string fields use
__print_untrusted_str() because they hold untrusted input. Unlike the
deny_access events, these omit the blockers field: each maps to exactly
one denial type named by the event, so the bitmask would always be zero.
Like the deny_access events they carry same_exec and logged.

Audit logs the task-targeted denials with generic field names (opid,
ocomm), but a strongly typed trace event can use role-prefixed names
(tracee_pid/tracee_comm, target_pid/target_comm) that match the mainline
task-name convention (sched_process_fork's parent_comm/child_comm) and
say whose name each field holds; a bare comm= would collide across
events. The abstract-unix-socket event reports peer_pid instead, a
tracepoint-only field with no audit counterpart.

A scope or ptrace verdict compares the subject domain against the other
party's domain, so each event also reports that other party's Landlock
domain (tracee_domain=, target_domain=, or peer_domain=); the subject
domain= alone does not let a consumer redo domain_is_scoped() or
domain_ptrace(). It is reported as a scalar ID rather than a domain
pointer: a domain object is immutable, but the other task can replace
its credential and free the domain that credential referenced, so a
stored foreign pointer could dangle before the event is consumed. The
scalar ID also honors the tracepoint no-nullable-pointer rule, since the
other party is frequently unsandboxed. Passing the foreign domain
hierarchy object so an eBPF consumer could walk the other party's
ancestry live would lengthen the RCU section on the shared denial path
and needs a deferred refcount put, so it is left as a future
enhancement. The relational domain-ID field (tracee_domain,
target_domain, or peer_domain) is trace-only and is not added to audit
records, so audit's denial format is unchanged by this series.

Mickaël Salaün 01ce260f5c landlock: Add landlock_deny_access_fs and landlock_deny_access_net
Add per-type tracepoints emitted from landlock_log_denial() when an
access is denied: landlock_deny_access_fs for filesystem denials and
landlock_deny_access_net for network denials. They use the "deny_"
prefix (rather than "check_") to mark that they fire only on a denial,
and they complement the check_rule events by making the
denial-by-absence case explicit (when no rule matches, no check_rule
event fires).

Unlike the audit records, these events fire regardless of the audit
configuration and the domain's log flags: the user's "disable logging"
intent applies to audit records, not to kernel tracing. The logged
field records whether the domain's log policy would submit the denial to
audit; it is the decision computed once by landlock_log_denial() and
passed to both the audit and the tracing emitter, so a stateless ftrace
filter can select the audit-visible denials with logged==1.

TP_PROTO passes the denying hierarchy node, not the task's current
domain, so domain_id reports the specific node that blocked the access,
matching audit record semantics. (check_rule instead passes the current
domain, which it needs to size its per-layer array.) same_exec is also
passed explicitly because it is computed from the credential bitmask and
is not derivable from the hierarchy pointer alone. The denial field is
named blockers to match the audit record field.

The filesystem path comes from the request's audit data. Its type
selects which union member holds the object, exactly as
dump_common_audit_data() selects it (a path, a file's path, an ioctl
op's path, or a bare dentry); reading the wrong member would dereference
garbage, so every reachable type has an explicit case and an unexpected
one is flagged with WARN_ONCE() instead of misread. Path-backed types
resolve via d_absolute_path() (as landlock_add_rule_fs does) and the
bare-dentry case via dentry_path_raw().

The inode number is read defensively. A filesystem denial can carry a
negative dentry (no backing inode), for example a denied creation, so
the event mirrors the guard in dump_common_audit_data() and reports
inode 0 rather than dereferencing a NULL inode. The sibling fs
tracepoints do not need the guard: a dentry that matches a rule during
an access check, or one opened to add a rule, always has a backing
inode. Landlock tracepoints are reachable by unprivileged sandboxees,
so a denial on a negative dentry with the event enabled must not fault
the kernel.

Mickaël Salaün 3f1f106e4c landlock: Add tracepoints for rule checking
Merge landlock_find_rule() into landlock_unmask_layers() so rule
pointers stay inside the domain implementation while unmask checking
gets the matched rule it needs for the check_rule tracepoint.
landlock_unmask_layers() now takes a landlock_id and the domain instead
of a rule pointer. A rename or link evaluates the same dentry against
both renamed parents, so this path now looks the rule up once per
parent; collapsing that back to a single lookup is left to a follow-up.

Emit, via the per-type wrappers unmask_layers_fs() and
unmask_layers_net(), the rights each matching rule grants at every
domain layer. The events carry this as a dynamic per-layer array (up to
LANDLOCK_MAX_NUM_LAYERS entries) reserved from the trace ring buffer,
not the caller's stack, and rendered symbolically per layer. A
WARN_ON_ONCE() in __trace_landlock_fill_layers() flags a rule whose
layer levels fall outside the domain range or are unsorted, a
cannot-happen case; the zero-filled slots keep the rendered output and
the array bounds safe regardless.

Setting allowed_parent2 to true for non-dom-check requests when
get_inode_id() returns false preserves the pre-refactoring behavior: a
negative dentry (no backing inode) has no matching rule, so the access
is allowed at this path component. Before the refactoring,
landlock_unmask_layers() with a NULL rule produced this result as a side
effect; now the caller must set it explicitly.

Name the trace-only check_rule fields so each printk label equals its
ring-buffer field name and works directly as an ftrace filter: the
request field is labelled access_request= and the per-layer array is
named grants. Values audit also logs keep audit's label (domain=,
ruleset=) so a single filter works across trace and audit.

Mickaël Salaün 132d84b16b landlock: Add landlock_enforce_domain tracepoint
The landlock_create_domain event records that a domain was created,
once, before thread-sync. It cannot tell which threads end up enforcing
it: a successful landlock_restrict_self(2) with
LANDLOCK_RESTRICT_SELF_TSYNC applies the domain to the caller and every
eligible sibling. Creation (the operation) and enforcement (the
per-thread outcome) are distinct.

Add landlock_enforce_domain(domain, complete, process_wide), emitted
once per thread the domain is applied to, strictly after that thread's
commit_creds(), so it fires only for a thread that is enforcing the
domain, never speculatively; an aborted operation emits none. The
lifecycle now reads create -> enforce* -> free.

The two booleans name properties, not the implementation:
- complete: marks the single event that concludes the operation. It
names the outcome, the set is now enforced, not which thread
finishes, which the contract leaves unspecified.
- process_wide: means every eligible thread of the process is
covered. It is set race-free by either establishing path,
  thread-sync or a single-threaded process, so
  complete && process_wide is the whole-process-enforced guarantee.

The requesting thread and source ruleset are not repeated here: they are
on create_domain (joined via domain->hierarchy->id) and on the immutable
domain->hierarchy->details. Source ruleset means the ruleset_id and
ruleset_version recorded on create_domain, not the ruleset object, which
the caller may close before enforcement.

Mickaël Salaün 67567f03a4 landlock: Add create_domain and free_domain tracepoints
Add a landlock_create_domain tracepoint emitted from
landlock_restrict_self() after the new domain is created, so a consumer
can correlate the source ruleset with the resulting domain. The
flags-only path (ruleset_fd == -1) creates no domain and emits no event.

Move the ruleset lock acquisition from landlock_merge_ruleset() to the
caller so the lock is held across both the merge and the tracepoint
emission, giving an eBPF program a consistent ruleset snapshot. Release
it before the thread-sync: holding ruleset->lock across
landlock_restrict_sibling_threads() would deadlock a sibling blocked on
the same lock. The event therefore fires before the (rare) thread-sync
failure path; when that path aborts the just-created domain, the
matching free_domain event fires so the create/free pair stays balanced.

Add a landlock_free_domain tracepoint that fires when a domain's
hierarchy node is freed. The hierarchy node is the lifecycle boundary
because it represents the domain's identity and outlives the domain's
access masks, which may still be active in descendant domains.

A domain freed without ever being committed to a credential was never
visible to user space, so free_domain is suppressed for it. This is
tracked by a new landlock_log_status value, LANDLOCK_LOG_UNCOMMITTED,
which is also the zero value so a hierarchy whose initialization failed
defaults to not observable. A hierarchy is born UNCOMMITTED and is
promoted to LANDLOCK_LOG_PENDING (or LANDLOCK_LOG_DISABLED when logging
is off) right after its create_domain event fires; a thread-sync failure
does not reset it, so an aborted domain that already emitted
create_domain still emits the matching free_domain. Promoting right
after the event, rather than at commit_creds() time, avoids a race: on a
successful thread-sync the sibling threads commit the new domain in
lockstep before landlock_restrict_self() returns, so the shared domain
may already have moved to LANDLOCK_LOG_RECORDED through a plain store,
and a late promotion would race that store and could unbalance the
domain allocation and deallocation audit records.

Mickaël Salaün 63747c9477 landlock: Add landlock_add_rule_fs and landlock_add_rule_net tracepoints
Add tracepoints for Landlock rule addition, landlock_add_rule_fs for
filesystem rules and landlock_add_rule_net for network rules, so trace
consumers can correlate filesystem objects and network ports with their
rulesets. Both are emitted under the ruleset lock (asserted in
TP_fast_assign) so an eBPF program reads the ruleset, including the rule
just inserted, in a consistent snapshot.

Add a version field to struct landlock_ruleset, gated on
CONFIG_TRACEPOINTS like the id field and incremented under the ruleset
lock on each successful landlock_add_rule(2), including when it only
extends an existing rule's access rights. It fills the existing 4-byte
hole after usage, so the struct does not grow. Pairing the ruleset ID
with the version lets a later restrict_self event record the exact
ruleset revision merged into a domain.

Resolve the filesystem rule's absolute path with d_absolute_path()
rather than the d_path() audit uses: d_absolute_path() produces
namespace-independent paths that do not depend on the tracer's chroot
state, making trace output deterministic regardless of mount namespace
configuration. Distinguish the error cases as "<too_long>"
(-ENAMETOOLONG) and "<unreachable>" (anonymous files or detached
mounts).

Also add __trace_print_untrusted_str(), a static inline helper in the
header guarded by CREATE_TRACE_POINTS: it escapes separators, quotes,
backslashes, and non-printable bytes via string_escape_mem() so an
untrusted string (the path here, process names in later denial events)
cannot inject field separators or control characters into the ftrace
text output.

Mickaël Salaün b4540a72be landlock: Add create_ruleset and free_ruleset tracepoints
Add the first Landlock tracepoints, for ruleset lifecycle:
landlock_create_ruleset fires from the landlock_create_ruleset() syscall
handler, and landlock_free_ruleset fires in free_ruleset() before the
ruleset is freed.

These tracepoints, and the ones added by the following commits, share a
common design. Rather than one polymorphic event distinguished by a
status field (as audit uses a shared record type with a "status="
field), each lifecycle transition and denial type gets its own event
with a type-safe TP_PROTO, giving precise ftrace filtering by event name
and type-safe eBPF access. TP_PROTO passes the object pointer and the
fields are read from it in TP_fast_assign, so an eBPF program reads the
full object state (rules, access masks, hierarchy) via BTF from a single
pointer rather than from the flattened TP_STRUCT__entry fields. The
whole cost is paid only when a tracer is attached; the static branch is
not taken otherwise. Trace fields carry the bare access-right and scope
names (read_file), reusing the audit name tables; audit prepends the
category (fs.read_file), which the trace event name already conveys.
The trace header's DOC comment documents the consistency and locking
guarantees these events share.

create_ruleset needs no lock because the ruleset is not yet shared (its
file descriptor is not yet installed). The deallocation events use the
"free_" prefix, not "drop_", because they fire when the object is
actually freed.

Add trace.c, built for CONFIG_TRACEPOINTS, which defines
CREATE_TRACE_POINTS, and extend CONFIG_SECURITY_LANDLOCK_LOG to also be
selected by CONFIG_TRACEPOINTS so the common log framework is available
to a tracepoints-only build.

Add an id field to struct landlock_ruleset, gated on CONFIG_TRACEPOINTS
and assigned from landlock_get_id_range() at creation. Only the
tracepoints consume it (audit identifies domains, not rulesets), so it
does not exist in an audit-only build. The Landlock ID is a stable u64
that names the ruleset across the trace stream and uses the same scheme
as audit, so a ruleset can be correlated between trace and audit
records.

Mickaël Salaün bc62ec6034 landlock: Consolidate access-right and scope names in a shared header
Audit formats denial records with per-right name strings. A following
commit adds trace events that print the same access and scope masks with
__print_flags() and need the same names, but a trace event header cannot
include Landlock-internal headers, so the names cannot be shared from
the logging unit.

Define the filesystem, network, and scope names once, as the
_LANDLOCK_ACCESS_FS_NAMES, _LANDLOCK_ACCESS_NET_NAMES, and
_LANDLOCK_SCOPE_NAMES lists in the public Landlock header. Each entry
is a _LANDLOCK_NAME_ENTRY() the consumer expands: audit maps it to a
"[bit] = name" array slot for an O(1) lookup, the trace events map it to
a __print_flags() { mask, name } pair. The bit value comes only from
the LANDLOCK_* UAPI constant each entry references, so every bit-to-name
mapping has a single source and does not depend on entry order.

The shared names are unprefixed; blocker_prefix() prepends the
fs./net./scope. category for audit records, so the scope names move from
inline literals to the shared table too. Audit records are unchanged.

No functional change.

Mickaël Salaün 69ca5782f8 landlock: Decouple the per-denial logging decision from CONFIG_AUDIT
Until now, whether a denial is logged was decided inside
landlock_audit_denial(): a per-execution flag check (log_same_exec or
log_new_exec, selected by the credential's domain_exec bitmask),
preceded by a LANDLOCK_LOG_DISABLED early return in
landlock_log_denial() for domains an ancestor fully quieted.

Factor that decision into a single is_denial_logged() helper called once
by landlock_log_denial(), and pass its result to landlock_audit_denial()
as a "logged" boolean. A following commit passes the same boolean to
the deny tracepoints, so audit and tracing share one decision that stays
correct as new log state is added, and a tracepoints-only build
(CONFIG_AUDIT=n) computes it identically. Computing the logged verdict
once in the shared helper makes audit and tracing apply identical
filtering, so they cannot report different logged= values for the same
denial as log controls grow.

Move the LANDLOCK_LOG_DISABLED gate out of landlock_log_denial() into
the decision so num_denials counts every denial, including those a
domain quiets. This was previously masked: the only reader of
num_denials is the audit "domain deallocated" record, emitted only for
domains that reached LANDLOCK_LOG_RECORDED; a fully quieted domain never
records, so its undercount was never observable. A following commit
adds a free_domain tracepoint that reports num_denials, which needs the
full count.

This is not a functional change for audit: the logged decision and the
audit_enabled gate are preserved, so the emitted records are identical.

Mickaël Salaün e761a88ced landlock: Split denial logging from audit into common framework
Tracepoint emission requires the denial framework (layer identification,
request validation) without depending on CONFIG_AUDIT. Separate the
denial logging infrastructure from the audit-specific code by
introducing a common log framework.

Create CONFIG_SECURITY_LANDLOCK_LOG, enabled by default when
CONFIG_AUDIT is set; a following commit extends it to CONFIG_TRACEPOINTS
when the first tracepoint consumer is added. Move the common framework
(the request types, the layer identification and request validation, and
the landlock_log_denial() and landlock_log_free_domain() entry points)
into log.c and log.h, and keep the audit-specific record formatting in
audit.c. log.o is built for CONFIG_SECURITY_LANDLOCK_LOG and audit.o for
CONFIG_AUDIT, so the common framework is available to a tracepoints-only
build. The entry points dispatch to no-op static inline audit stubs
without CONFIG_AUDIT, so the call sites stay unconditional. Rename the
former landlock_log_drop_domain() to landlock_log_free_domain() to match
the landlock_free_domain tracepoint added in a following commit.

landlock_log_denial() counts denials even without audit, so its
declaration and no-op stub are guarded by CONFIG_SECURITY_LANDLOCK_LOG,
not CONFIG_AUDIT; a CONFIG_AUDIT guard would expose the stub and clash
with log.c's definition in a tracepoints-only build.

Widen the ID allocation (id.o and the landlock_init_id() /
landlock_get_id_range() declarations) and the log-state representation
(the domain_exec and log_subdomains_off credential fields, the
landlock_hierarchy log fields, and the code that maintains them) from
CONFIG_AUDIT to CONFIG_SECURITY_LANDLOCK_LOG, so each field and its
writer share one guard and are available to tracing without audit
support.

Widen the denial-path state that feeds the per-denial logging decision
the same way, so the "logged" verdict is computed identically whether or
not CONFIG_AUDIT is set. Widening fown_layer is what keeps the
file-owner-signal path valid without audit: otherwise
hook_file_send_sigiotask() would leave layer_plus_one at zero, tripping
the is_valid_request() canary and dropping the LANDLOCK_SCOPE_SIGNAL
denial from tracing.

The ruleset-level quiet_masks stays on no CONFIG guard: it is builder
state validated and stored from user input, kept available so
LANDLOCK_ADD_RULE_QUIET flags are accepted and ignored, not rejected,
when CONFIG_SECURITY_LANDLOCK_LOG is disabled.

Mickaël Salaün 3841160416 landlock: Split struct landlock_domain from struct landlock_ruleset
Switch all domain users to the new struct landlock_domain type
introduced by a previous commit, eliminating the conflation between
mutable rulesets and immutable domains. landlock_merge_ruleset() now
returns and allocates a struct landlock_domain, and the merge and
inherit helpers move next to it; the former static insert_rule() is
exported as landlock_store_rule() for its new caller across the
translation-unit boundary.

The merge destination is now a private struct landlock_domain still
under construction (owned by the calling thread, not yet shared), so the
merge and inherit helpers lock only the source ruleset: the previous
lock of both destination and source collapses to a single
mutex_lock(&src->lock).

Rename the per-layer access-mask field from access_masks to
handled_masks, naming it by the role it plays (the rights each layer
handles) rather than by its type, paralleling the struct access_masks
quiet_masks field. Drop the now domain-only fields (hierarchy,
work_free, num_layers) from struct landlock_ruleset.

The new struct landlock_domain field in cred.h pulls in domain.h, which
includes audit.h, which previously included cred.h, forming an include
cycle. Break it by having audit.h forward-declare the struct
landlock_cred_security and struct landlock_hierarchy it uses instead of
including cred.h.

Mickaël Salaün e76ef456bb landlock: Prepare ruleset and domain type split
Rulesets and domains serve fundamentally different purposes: a ruleset
is mutable and user-facing, created by landlock_create_ruleset(), while
a domain is immutable after construction and enforced on tasks via
landlock_restrict_self(). Today both are represented by struct
landlock_ruleset, which conflates mutable and immutable state in a
single type: the lock field is unused by domains, the hierarchy field is
unused by rulesets, and lifecycle functions must handle both cases.

Prepare for a clean type split by introducing two new structures:

- struct landlock_rules: the red-black tree roots and rule count, shared
by both rulesets and domains. Decoupling rule storage from the domain
API lets the backing data structure change independently (e.g. to a
  hash table, cf. [1]).
- struct landlock_domain: the immutable domain enforced on tasks, with
no lock field because its rules and access masks are fixed once
construction completes. The name reflects the role, not the internal
  data structure.

Add the domain lifecycle helpers (landlock_get_domain(),
landlock_put_domain(), landlock_put_domain_deferred()) and move domain.o
from landlock-$(CONFIG_AUDIT) to landlock-y, because these are needed
unconditionally, not just for audit logging.

No behavioral change. The new types and lifecycle functions are not yet
used by any caller.

This is defensive hardening, not a fix for a reachable bug. The

Mickaël Salaün 143c656e25 landlock: Demonstrate best-effort allowed_access filtering
Landlock provides best-effort sandboxing across ABI versions:
applications request the rights they need, and on older kernels the
unsupported rights are silently dropped from handled_access_* by the
documented compatibility switch. The recommended pattern for
landlock_add_rule(2) calls is to mirror this filtering at the rule
level, which wasn't explicitly described in the exemple.

Show the pattern explicitly in the filesystem and network rule examples
by masking each rule's allowed_access against the ruleset's
handled_access_* and adding the rule only when at least one bit remains
set. This makes the recommended best-effort pattern self-documenting.

Mickaël Salaün b232bd1278 landlock: Account all audit data allocations to user space
Mark the kzalloc_flex() of struct landlock_details with
GFP_KERNEL_ACCOUNT so the allocation is charged to the calling task,
like the other Landlock per-domain allocations which have used
GFP_KERNEL_ACCOUNT forever.

Every property of landlock_details is caller-attributable: allocated by
landlock_restrict_self(2), owned by the caller's landlock_hierarchy,
contents are the caller's pid, uid, comm, and exe_path, lifetime bounded
by the caller's domain. While the caller may not know nor control the
size of this allocation (i.e. exe_path), this data should still be
accounted for it.

The deciding factor is whether userspace can trigger the allocation, not
whether the size of the data is known nor controlled by the caller.
This aligns with the kmemcg accounting policy established by commit
5d097056c9 ("kmemcg: account certain kmem allocations to memcg").

No new failure modes: the hierarchy and ruleset are allocated before
details and are already accounted, so landlock_restrict_self(2) already
returns -ENOMEM under memcg pressure. This change widens that existing
failure window slightly; it does not introduce a new error code.

Mickaël Salaün d936e1a917 landlock: Set audit_net.sk for socket access checks
Set audit_net.sk in current_check_access_socket() to provide the socket
object to audit_log_lsm_data(). This makes Landlock consistent with
AppArmor, which always sets .sk for socket operations, and with
SELinux's generic socket permission checks.

The socket's local and foreign address information (laddr, lport, faddr,
fport) is logged by the shared lsm_audit.c infrastructure when the
socket has bound or connected state. Fields with zero values are
suppressed by print_ipv4_addr()/print_ipv6_addr(), so the audit output
is unchanged for the common case of bind denials on unbound sockets.
For connect denials after a prior bind, the bound local address (laddr,
lport) appears before the existing sockaddr fields (daddr, dest).

No existing fields are removed or reordered, and the new field names
(laddr, lport, faddr, fport) are standard audit fields already emitted
by other LSMs through the same lsm_audit.c code path.

Add a connect_tcp_bound audit test that binds to an allowed port and
then connects to a denied one, verifying that the denial record reports
laddr/lport from the bound socket in addition to the connect
destination.

Mickaël Salaün d8dfb4c7fa selftests/landlock: Increase default audit socket timeout
matches_log_fs() and other audit_match_record() callers intermittently
return -EAGAIN under heavy debug configs (KASAN, lockdep). The audit
record delivery pipeline is asynchronous: landlock_log_denial() queues
the record to audit_queue, and kauditd_thread dequeues and delivers via
netlink. Under debug configs, kauditd scheduling between
audit_log_end() and netlink_unicast() can exceed a syscall round trip
(more than 1 usec), which was the value of the socket timeout used for
the recvfrom() calls.

The observed failure [1] is an EAGAIN error code (-11) which means that
the access record had not arrived within the 1 usec timeout of
recvfrom(). The expected record does arrive, but only after
matches_log_fs() has already returned. It is then consumed by a later
audit_count_records() call, making records.access == 1 instead of 0.

Switch the default socket timeout to the slow value (1 second) so all
audit_match_record() callers wait long enough for kauditd delivery, and
lower it to the fast value (1 usec) only on the two paths that expect no
record: audit_count_records() and the expected_domain_id == 0 probe in
matches_log_domain_deallocated().  audit_init() drains stale records
with the fast timeout (terminating on -EAGAIN once the backlog is empty)
and switches to the patient default before returning. 1 second gives
~10x margin over the observed maximum (~100 ms, while the happy path is
~23 us).

Rename the timeval constants to reflect their new roles:
- audit_tv_dom_drop (1 second) -> audit_tv_default: default socket
timeout, patient enough for asynchronous kauditd delivery.
- audit_tv_default (1 usec) -> audit_tv_fast: fast timeout for paths
that expect no record (drain, audit_count_records(), probes).

Invert the conditional in matches_log_domain_deallocated(). Check
setsockopt returns on both the lower and restore paths; preserve the
first error via !err when the restore fails after a prior error so the
actionable return code is not masked by a bookkeeping failure.

Mickaël Salaün 26679fad81 selftests/landlock: Filter dealloc records in audit_count_records()
audit_count_records() counts both AUDIT_LANDLOCK_DOMAIN allocation and
deallocation records in records.domain . Domain deallocation is tied to
asynchronous credential freeing via kworker threads
(landlock_put_ruleset_deferred), so the dealloc record can arrive after
the drain in audit_init() and after the preceding audit_match_record()
call. This causes flaky failures in tests that assert an exact
records.domain count: a stale dealloc record from a previous test's
domain inflates the count by one.

Observed on x86_64 under build configurations that delay the kworker
firing the dealloc callback (e.g. coverage instrumentation): the
audit_layout1 tests in fs_test.c intermittently saw records.domain == 2
where 1 was expected. The fix is in the shared helper, so those
existing checks become robust without needing a fs_test.c edit.

Filter audit_count_records() with a regex to skip records containing
deallocation status. The remaining domain records (allocation, emitted
synchronously during landlock_log_denial()) are deterministic.
Deallocation records are already tested explicitly via
matches_log_domain_deallocated() in audit_test.c, which uses its own
domain-ID-based filtering and longer timeout.

With this filter in place, re-add the records.domain == 0 checks that
were removed in commit 3647a4977f ("selftests/landlock: Drain stale

The insert_rule() and create_rule() functions take a

The kernel-doc parser cannot handle a qualifier between * and the
parameter name in this syntax, producing spurious "Invalid param" and

Remove the const qualifier of the "layers" argument to avoid this
parsing issue.

Mickaël Salaün 07c2572a87 selftests/landlock: Skip stale records in audit_match_record()
Domain deallocation records are emitted asynchronously from kworker
threads (via free_ruleset_work()). Stale deallocation records from a
previous test can arrive during the current test's deallocation read
loop and be picked up by audit_match_record() instead of the expected
record, causing a domain ID mismatch. The audit.layers test (which
creates 16 nested domains) is particularly vulnerable because it reads
16 deallocation records in sequence, providing a large window for stale
records to interleave.

The same issue affects audit_flags.signal, where deallocation records
from a previous test (audit.layers) can leak into the next test and be
picked up by audit_match_record() instead of the expected record.

Fix this by continuing to read records when the type matches but the
content pattern does not. Stale records are silently consumed, and the
loop only stops when both type and pattern match (or the socket times
out with -EAGAIN).

Additionally, extend matches_log_domain_deallocated() with an
expected_domain_id parameter. When set, the regex pattern includes the
specific domain ID as a literal hex value, so that deallocation records
for a different domain do not match the pattern at all. This handles
the case where the stale record has the same denial count as the
expected one (e.g. both have denials=1), which the type+pattern loop
alone cannot distinguish. Callers that already know the expected domain
ID (from a prior denial or allocation record) now pass it to filter
precisely.

When expected_domain_id is set, matches_log_domain_deallocated() also
temporarily increases the socket timeout to audit_tv_dom_drop (1 second)
to wait for the asynchronous kworker deallocation, and restores
audit_tv_default afterward. This removes the need for callers to manage
the timeout switch manually.

Mickaël Salaün 3647a4977f selftests/landlock: Drain stale audit records on init
Non-audit Landlock tests generate audit records as side effects when
audit_enabled is non-zero (e.g. from boot configuration). These records
accumulate in the kernel audit backlog while no audit daemon socket is
open. When the next test opens a new netlink socket and registers as
the audit daemon, the stale backlog is delivered, causing baseline
record count checks to fail spuriously.

Fix this by draining all pending records in audit_init() right after
setting the receive timeout. The 1-usec SO_RCVTIMEO causes audit_recv()
to return -EAGAIN once the backlog is empty, naturally terminating the
drain loop.

Domain deallocation records are emitted asynchronously from a work
queue, so they may still arrive after the drain. Remove records.domain
== 0 checks that are not preceded by audit_match_record() calls, which
would otherwise consume stale records before the count. Document this
constraint above audit_count_records().

Increasing the drain timeout to catch in-flight deallocation records was
considered but rejected: a longer timeout adds latency to every
audit_init() call even when no stale record is pending, and any fixed
timeout is still not guaranteed to catch all records under load.
Removing the unprotected checks is simpler and avoids the spurious
failures.

Mickaël Salaün 874c8f8382 landlock: Fix LOG_SUBDOMAINS_OFF inheritance across fork()
hook_cred_transfer() only copies the Landlock security blob when the
source credential has a domain. This is inconsistent with
landlock_restrict_self() which can set LOG_SUBDOMAINS_OFF on a
credential without creating a domain (via the ruleset_fd=-1 path): the
field is committed but not preserved across fork() because the child's
prepare_creds() calls hook_cred_transfer() which skips the copy when
domain is NULL.

This breaks the documented use case where a process mutes subdomain logs
before forking sandboxed children: the children lose the muting and
their domains produce unexpected audit records.

Fix this by unconditionally copying the Landlock credential blob.

Introduce the FOR_EACH_NS_TYPE(X) macro as the single source of truth
for the set of (struct type, CLONE_NEW* flag) pairs that define Linux
namespace types.

Currently, the list of CLONE_NEW* flags is duplicated inline in
multiple call sites and would need another copy in each new consumer.
This makes it easy to miss one when a new namespace type is added.

Derive two things from the X-macro:

- CLONE_NS_ALL: Bitmask of all known CLONE_NEW* flags, usable as a
  validity mask or iteration bound.

- ns_common_type(): Rewritten to use the X-macro via a leading-comma
_Generic pattern, so the struct-to-flag mapping stays in sync with the
  flag set automatically.

Replace the inline flag enumerations in copy_namespaces(),
unshare_nsproxy_namespaces(), check_setns_flags(), and
ksys_unshare() with CLONE_NS_ALL.

When a new namespace type is added, only FOR_EACH_NS_TYPE needs to
be updated; CLONE_NS_ALL, ns_common_type(), and all the call sites
pick up the change automatically.

Mickaël Salaün a54142d9ff selftests/landlock: Test tsync interruption and cancellation paths
Add tsync_interrupt test to exercise the signal interruption path in
landlock_restrict_sibling_threads().  When a signal interrupts
wait_for_completion_interruptible() while the calling thread waits for
sibling threads to finish credential preparation, the kernel:

1. Sets ERESTARTNOINTR to request a transparent syscall restart.
2. Calls cancel_tsync_works() to opportunistically dequeue task works
that have not started running yet.
3. Breaks out of the preparation loop, then unblocks remaining
task works via complete_all() and waits for them to finish.
4. Returns the error, causing abort_creds() in the syscall handler.

Specifically, cancel_tsync_works() in its entirety, the ERESTARTNOINTR
error branch in landlock_restrict_sibling_threads(), and the
abort_creds() error branch in the landlock_restrict_self() syscall
handler are timing-dependent and not exercised by the existing tsync
tests, making code coverage measurements non-deterministic.

The test spawns a signaler thread that rapidly sends SIGUSR1 to the
calling thread while it performs landlock_restrict_self() with
LANDLOCK_RESTRICT_SELF_TSYNC. Since ERESTARTNOINTR causes a
transparent restart, userspace always sees the syscall succeed.

This is a best-effort coverage test: the interruption path is exercised
when the signal lands during the preparation wait, which depends on
thread scheduling. The test creates enough idle sibling threads (200)
to ensure multiple serialized waves of credential preparation even on
machines with many cores (e.g., 64), widening the window for the
signaler. Deterministic coverage would require wrapping the wait call
with ALLOW_ERROR_INJECTION() and using CONFIG_FAIL_FUNCTION.

Test coverage for security/landlock was 90.2% of 2105 lines according to
LLVM 21, and it is now 91.1% of 2105 lines with this new test.

Mickaël Salaün 929553bbb4 landlock: Fully release unused TSYNC work entries
If task_work_add() failed, ctx->task is put but the tsync_works struct
is not reset to its previous state. The first consequence is that the
kernel allocates memory for dying threads, which could lead to
user-accounted memory exhaustion (not very useful nor specific to this
case). The second consequence is that task_work_cancel(), called by
cancel_tsync_works(), can dereference a NULL task pointer.

Fix this issues by keeping a consistent works->size wrt the added task
work. This is done in a new tsync_works_trim() helper which also cleans
up the shared_ctx and work fields.

As a safeguard, add a pointer check to cancel_tsync_works() and update

To avoid this issue, explicitly disable the related code when

Mickaël Salaün 49c9e09d96 landlock: Fix handling of disconnected directories
Disconnected files or directories can appear when they are visible and
opened from a bind mount, but have been renamed or moved from the source
of the bind mount in a way that makes them inaccessible from the mount
point (i.e. out of scope).

Previously, access rights tied to files or directories opened through a
disconnected directory were collected by walking the related hierarchy
down to the root of the filesystem, without taking into account the
mount point because it couldn't be found. This could lead to
inconsistent access results, potential access right widening, and
hard-to-debug renames, especially since such paths cannot be printed.

For a sandboxed task to create a disconnected directory, it needs to
have write access (i.e. FS_MAKE_REG, FS_REMOVE_FILE, and FS_REFER) to
the underlying source of the bind mount, and read access to the related
mount point. Because a sandboxed task cannot acquire more access
rights than those defined by its Landlock domain, this could lead to
inconsistent access rights due to missing permissions that should be
inherited from the mount point hierarchy, while inheriting permissions
from the filesystem hierarchy hidden by this mount point instead.

Landlock now handles files and directories opened from disconnected
directories by taking into account the filesystem hierarchy when the
mount point is not found in the hierarchy walk, and also always taking
into account the mount point from which these disconnected directories
were opened. This ensures that a rename is not allowed if it would
widen access rights [1].

The rationale is that, even if disconnected hierarchies might not be
visible or accessible to a sandboxed task, relying on the collected
access rights from them improves the guarantee that access rights will
not be widened during a rename because of the access right comparison
between the source and the destination (see LANDLOCK_ACCESS_FS_REFER).
It may look like this would grant more access on disconnected files and
directories, but the security policies are always enforced for all the
evaluated hierarchies. This new behavior should be less surprising to
users and safer from an access control perspective.

Remove a wrong WARN_ON_ONCE() canary in collect_domain_accesses() and
fix the related comment.

Because opened files have their access rights stored in the related file
security properties, there is no impact for disconnected or unlinked
files.

Mickaël Salaün 12bfcda73a landlock: Add LANDLOCK_RESTRICT_SELF_LOG_*_EXEC_* flags
Most of the time we want to log denied access because they should not
happen and such information helps diagnose issues. However, when
sandboxing processes that we know will try to access denied resources
(e.g. unknown, bogus, or malicious binary), we might want to not log
related access requests that might fill up logs.

By default, denied requests are logged until the task call execve(2).

If the LANDLOCK_RESTRICT_SELF_LOG_SAME_EXEC_OFF flag is set, denied
requests will not be logged for the same executed file.

If the LANDLOCK_RESTRICT_SELF_LOG_NEW_EXEC_ON flag is set, denied
requests from after an execve(2) call will be logged.

The rationale is that a program should know its own behavior, but not
necessarily the behavior of other programs.

Because LANDLOCK_RESTRICT_SELF_LOG_SAME_EXEC_OFF is set for a specific
Landlock domain, it makes it possible to selectively mask some access
requests that would be logged by a parent domain, which might be handy
for unprivileged processes to limit logs. However, system
administrators should still use the audit filtering mechanism. There is
intentionally no audit nor sysctl configuration to re-enable these logs.
This is delegated to the user space program.

Increment the Landlock ABI version to reflect this interface change.

Mickaël Salaün 20fd295494 landlock: Log truncate and IOCTL denials
Add audit support to the file_truncate and file_ioctl hooks.

Add a deny_masks_t type and related helpers to store the domain's layer
level per optional access rights (i.e. LANDLOCK_ACCESS_FS_TRUNCATE and
LANDLOCK_ACCESS_FS_IOCTL_DEV) when opening a file, which cannot be
inferred later. In practice, the landlock_file_security aligned blob size is
still 16 bytes because this new one-byte deny_masks field follows the
existing two-bytes allowed_access field and precede the packed
fown_subject.

Implementing deny_masks_t with a bitfield instead of a struct enables a
generic implementation to store and extract layer levels.

Add KUnit tests to check the identification of a layer level from a
deny_masks_t, and the computation of a deny_masks_t from an access right
with its layer level or a layer_mask_t array.

Add audit support for path_mkdir, path_mknod, path_symlink, path_unlink,
path_rmdir, path_truncate, path_link, path_rename, and file_open hooks.

The dedicated blockers are:
- fs.execute
- fs.write_file
- fs.read_file
- fs.read_dir
- fs.remove_dir
- fs.remove_file
- fs.make_char
- fs.make_dir
- fs.make_reg
- fs.make_sock
- fs.make_fifo
- fs.make_block
- fs.make_sym
- fs.refer
- fs.truncate
- fs.ioctl_dev

Audit event sample for a denied link action:

We could pack blocker names (e.g. "fs:make_reg,refer") but that would
increase complexity for the kernel and log parsers. Moreover, this
could not handle blockers of different classes (e.g. fs and net). Make
it simple and flexible instead.

Add KUnit tests to check the identification from a layer_mask_t array of
the first layer level denying such request.

Mickaël Salaün 1d636984e0 landlock: Add AUDIT_LANDLOCK_DOMAIN and log domain status
Asynchronously log domain information when it first denies an access.
This minimize the amount of generated logs, which makes it possible to
always log denials for the current execution since they should not
happen. These records are identified with the new AUDIT_LANDLOCK_DOMAIN
type.

The AUDIT_LANDLOCK_DOMAIN message contains:
- the "domain" ID which is described;
- the "status" which can either be "allocated" or "deallocated";
- the "mode" which is for now only "enforcing";
- for the "allocated" status, a minimal set of properties to easily
identify the task that loaded the domain's policy with
landlock_restrict_self(2): "pid", "uid", executable path ("exe"), and
  command line ("comm");
- for the "deallocated" state, the number of "denials" accounted to this
domain, which is at least 1.

This requires each domain to save these task properties at creation
time in the new struct landlock_details. A reference to the PID is kept
for the lifetime of the domain to avoid race conditions when
investigating the related task. The executable path is resolved and
stored to not keep a reference to the filesystem and block related
actions. All these metadata are stored for the lifetime of the related
domain and should then be minimal. The required memory is not accounted
to the task calling landlock_restrict_self(2) contrary to most other
Landlock allocations (see related comment).

The AUDIT_LANDLOCK_DOMAIN record follows the first AUDIT_LANDLOCK_ACCESS
record for the same domain, which is always followed by AUDIT_SYSCALL
and AUDIT_PROCTITLE. This is in line with the audit logic to first
record the cause of an event, and then add context with other types of
record.

Audit event sample for a first denial:

  type=LANDLOCK_ACCESS msg=audit(1732186800.349:44): domain=195ba459b blockers=ptrace opid=1 ocomm="systemd"

Audit event sample for a following denial:

  type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1732186800.372:45): arch=c000003e syscall=101 success=no [...] pid=300 auid=0

Log domain deletion with the "deallocated" state when a domain was
previously logged. This makes it possible for log parsers to free
potential resources when a domain ID will never show again.

The number of denied access requests is useful to easily check how many
access requests a domain blocked and potentially if some of them are
missing in logs because of audit rate limiting, audit rules, or Landlock
log configuration flags (see following commit).

Mickaël Salaün 33e65b0d3a landlock: Add AUDIT_LANDLOCK_ACCESS and log ptrace denials
Add a new AUDIT_LANDLOCK_ACCESS record type dedicated to an access
request denied by a Landlock domain. AUDIT_LANDLOCK_ACCESS indicates
that something unexpected happened.

For now, only denied access are logged, which means that any
AUDIT_LANDLOCK_ACCESS record is always followed by a SYSCALL record with
"success=no". However, log parsers should check this syscall property
because this is the only sign that a request was denied. Indeed, we
could have "success=yes" if Landlock would support a "permissive" mode.
We could also add a new field to AUDIT_LANDLOCK_DOMAIN for this mode
(see following commit).

By default, the only logged access requests are those coming from the
same executed program that enforced the Landlock restriction on itself.
In other words, no audit record are created for a task after it called
execve(2). This is required to avoid log spam because programs may only
be aware of their own restrictions, but not the inherited ones.

Following commits will allow to conditionally generate
AUDIT_LANDLOCK_ACCESS records according to dedicated
landlock_restrict_self(2)'s flags.

The AUDIT_LANDLOCK_ACCESS message contains:
- the "domain" ID restricting the action on an object,
- the "blockers" that are missing to allow the requested access,
- a set of fields identifying the related object (e.g. task identified
  with "opid" and "ocomm").

The blockers are implicit restrictions (e.g. ptrace), or explicit access
rights (e.g. filesystem), or explicit scopes (e.g. signal). This field
contains a list of at least one element, each separated with a comma.

The initial blocker is "ptrace", which describe all implicit Landlock
restrictions related to ptrace (e.g. deny tracing of tasks outside a
sandbox).

Add audit support to ptrace_access_check and ptrace_traceme hooks. For
the ptrace_access_check case, we log the current/parent domain and the
child task. For the ptrace_traceme case, we log the parent domain and
the current/child task. Indeed, the requester and the target are the
current task, but the action would be performed by the parent task.

Audit event sample:

  type=LANDLOCK_ACCESS msg=audit(1729738800.349:44): domain=195ba459b blockers=ptrace opid=1 ocomm="systemd"
  type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1729738800.349:44): arch=c000003e syscall=101 success=no [...] pid=300 auid=0

A following commit adds user documentation.

Add KUnit tests to check reading of domain ID relative to layer level.

The quick return for non-landlocked tasks is moved from task_ptrace() to
each LSM hooks.

It is not useful to inline the audit_enabled check because other
computation are performed by landlock_log_denial().

Use scoped guards for RCU read-side critical sections.

Mickaël Salaün d9d2a68ed4 landlock: Add unique ID generator
Landlock IDs can be generated to uniquely identify Landlock objects.
For now, only Landlock domains get an ID at creation time. These IDs
map to immutable domain hierarchies.

Landlock IDs have important properties:
- They are unique during the lifetime of the running system thanks to
the 64-bit values: at worse, 2^60 - 2*2^32 useful IDs.
- They are always greater than 2^32 and must then be stored in 64-bit
  integer types.
- The initial ID (at boot time) is randomly picked between 2^32 and
2^33, which limits collisions in logs across different boots.
- IDs are sequential, which enables users to order them.
- IDs may not be consecutive but increase with a random 2^4 step, which
  limits side channels.

Such IDs can be exposed to unprivileged processes, even if it is not the
case with this audit patch series. The domain IDs will be useful for
user space to identify sandboxes and get their properties.

These Landlock IDs are more secure that other absolute kernel IDs such
as pipe's inodes which rely on a shared global counter.

For checkpoint/restore features (i.e. CRIU), we could easily implement a
privileged interface (e.g. sysfs) to set the next ID counter.

IDR/IDA are not used because we only need a bijection from Landlock
objects to Landlock IDs, and we must not recycle IDs. This enables us
to identify all Landlock objects during the lifetime of the system (e.g.
in logs), but not to access an object from an ID nor know if an ID is
assigned. Using a counter is simpler, it scales (i.e. avoids growing
memory footprint), and it does not require locking. We'll use proper
file descriptors (with IDs used as inode numbers) to access Landlock
objects.

The new signal_scoping_thread_setuid tests check that the libc's
